5 best alternatives to Royal Enfield Hunter 350 in India 2026

Receives revised exterior styling and refreshed interior theme

Gets new features such as TPMS and wireless charger

Continues with the 2.4-litre diesel engine and manual gearbox

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the 2026 Innova Crysta in India, with prices starting at Rs. 19.72 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest update for the popular MPV introduces subtle design revisions, additional convenience features, and a refreshed cabin theme, while retaining the mechanical package that has made it a favourite among both private and fleet buyers.

On the outside, the updated Innova Crysta gets a redesigned radiator grille and revised front bumper garnish, lending the MPV a more premium and assertive appearance. At the rear, Toyota has updated the bumper garnish to further enhance the vehicle's road presence. While the changes are not extensive, they help freshen the MPV's appearance without altering its familiar silhouette.

The cabin receives a more noticeable set of updates. Toyota has introduced new dual-tone leather seat upholstery along with revised trim elements finished in Grace Copper. The dashboard, door trims, and various bezels now feature copper accents and wood-pattern inserts, giving the interior a richer and more contemporary feel. The company has also updated the detailing around the AC controls, switches, and rear seat-back table.

The feature list has been expanded with the addition of a wireless charger and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). These join the existing equipment package, which includes a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, steering-mounted controls, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents.

Powering the Innova Crysta continues to be Toyota's tried-and-tested 2.4-litre diesel engine paired exclusively with a five-speed manual gearbox. The oil burner remains one of the key reasons for the MPV's popularity, thanks to its strong low-end performance, relaxed cruising ability, and long-distance comfort. Toyota claims a fuel efficiency figure of up to 15kmpl.

Safety equipment remains unchanged and includes seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist Control, ABS with EBD, and brake assist. The Innova Crysta continues to offer the same blend of comfort, practicality, and dependability that has helped it build a loyal customer base over the last two decades.

The updated Innova Crysta is available in five exterior colours: Platinum White Pearl, Super White, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, and Avant-Garde Bronze Metallic.

The launch of the refreshed Innova Crysta comes at an interesting time for Toyota. While the Innova HyCross has increasingly become the brand's flagship MPV, the diesel-powered Crysta continues to enjoy strong demand from buyers seeking durability, practicality, and long-distance comfort.

Industry reports have also suggested that the Innova Crysta could be discontinued by 2027 as Toyota gradually transitions towards newer and more electrified products. If that turns out to be the case, this update could potentially be the final significant refresh for one of India's most successful MPVs before it eventually bows out of the market.

New Delhi: Honda City facelift has started reaching dealerships ahead of its expected May 22 launch, giving sedan buyers a clear first look before the official price reveal. The updated model has been spotted with fresh styling, new lighting elements and a few cabin changes that could help Honda keep the City relevant in India’s shrinking, but still loyal, sedan market.

The City has always had that “family car with a little attitude” image in India. This facelift seems to lean into that idea. It does not change the core formula, but it brings enough visual updates to make people notice it at a showroom or traffic signal.

Honda City facelift gets a sharper face
The biggest change is at the front. The 2026 Honda City facelift gets connected LED headlights, a slimmer wraparound grille and a redesigned bumper. The nose looks more pronounced now, which gives the sedan a cleaner and slightly sportier look.

At the rear, Honda has kept the U-shaped LED tail-lights, but the bumper now gets a gloss insert. The spotted unit also had a boot lip spoiler and new two-tone alloy wheels.

Cabin gets a bigger screen
Inside, the new City facelift is expected to offer a larger touchscreen infotainment system. The dealership images also show blue ambient lighting and a sunroof.

For regular buyers, these updates matter. A bigger screen, better lighting and a sunroof are now big showroom talking points, even in sedans.

Engine options remain the same
The 2026 City facelift will continue with the same engine options.

As electric vehicles gain momentum in the Indian automotive landscape, several carmakers are hopping on the bandwagon. Some include new entrants, while legacy players eye out portfolio enhancements. Here is a list of five soon-to-debut electric cars.

Tata Sierra EV

Tata Motors will not leave the revived icon, the Sierra, with an ICE powertrain. The mid-size SUV is also set to receive an EV iteration. A 4x4 drivetrain is also expected to make its way with the EV.

Mechanically, the Sierra EV should get 55kWh and 65kWh battery packs, positioning it well between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV, in terms of battery capacity. The same should apply to the motor, which could utilise a mellowed-down state of tune as compared to the Harrier EV.

Tata Safari EV

The second product from the Tata.ev stable will be the Safari EV, and it will stand as an answer to the Mahindra XEV 9S.

This three-row eSUV will be positioned above the Harrier EV. While its powertrain details are not currently known, expect a slightly higher powertrain tune as opposed to the Harrier EV’s setup.

Toyota Ebella

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella will be the carmaker's first BEV in India. Although it is a Maruti e Vitara underneath, it has changed front and rear ends.

The Ebella has been revealed, but its price announcement is likely to happen this month. It gets the same 49kWh (142bhp/189Nm) and 61kWh (172bhp/189Nm) configurations as the e Vitara, with a range of up to 543km.

Kia Syros EV

The Kia Syros EV is confirmed for a July 2026 India showcase. While the refreshed ICE version is currently on sale, the EV will get some unique cosmetic and functional implementations.

The Syros EV is likely to mimic the international-spec Hyundai Inster EV, getting 42kWh, 95bhp/147Nm and 49kWh, 113bhp/147Nm powertrain combinations.

Vinfast VF 3

Vinfast India will attack the sub-Rs. 10 lakh segment with the VF 3 hatch - an MG Comet EV rival. It gets a competitive advantage against the MG, like fast charging and higher battery capacity.

Mechanically, the Vinfast VF 3 is powered by a 40.2bhp/110Nm RWD motor paired with an 18.64kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of up to 215km (NEDC). 10-70 per cent charge comes in at 36 minutes using a DC charger.

Notably, the changes in this facelift have resulted in a price increase of Rs 9.65 lakh (ex-showroom) over the outgoing version, which was priced at Rs 46.05 lakh. Let’s take a look at what this premium gets you:

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift: Exterior
Exterior changes to this facelift are relatively minor, and the Ioniq 5 still retains its quirky design with boxy and sharp elements with pixelated lighting designs. Up front, it gets a new bumper with a sleek look that comes finished in a contrast silver colour. You also have a silver applique and a larger lower air dam, too.

In profile, it remains near-identical to the pre-facelift car, except for minor changes like a new design for the aero alloy wheels and the side cladding, which is now finished in silver.

The rear-end styling also remains largely unchanged, but just like the front, there is a new bumper here with chunky cladding finished in silver and a new updated rear spoiler as well. Besides this, you still have the pixelated LED taillamps and a sharply raked windshield for a futuristic look.

Hyundai is offering the new Ioniq 5 in four colour options: Optic White, Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl and Titan Grey.

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift: Interior
The new Ioniq 5’s interior is now finished in an all-black theme, which replaced the dual-tone white and grey theme of the outgoing car. The basic dashboard layout stays the same with a dual-screen setup and a ‘floating’ centre console. However, you now get to see a new three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with the ‘four-dots’ Hyundai logo with heating function.

The carmaker also says it has updated the centre console, which now gets a wireless smartphone charger on top, along with two cupholders and physical controls for the heated and ventilated front seats.

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift: Features And Safety
A key part of this update is the new features that have been added to the Ioniq 5. This includes 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, OTA update capabilities, active sound design and in-car payment integration for public chargers.

Besides this, it still retains features like a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charger, 8-speaker BOSE sound system, dual-zone climate control, heated ORVMs, rear sunshades and a powered tailgate.

In terms of safety, this facelift adds Rear Parking Collision Avoidance Assist and Side Parking Distance Warning to its already comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite. It carries forward existing safety tech like 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and rain-sensing wipers.

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift: Powertrain
The biggest change to the new Ioniq 5 has come in the form of a new 84 kWh battery that replaces the older 72.6 kWh unit. This has resulted in a longer claimed range of up to 690 km. Here are the new specifications:

Notably, the new Ioniq 5 also gets 350 kW DC fast charging capabilities, which can top up the car from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift: Rivals
The new Ioniq 5 joins the luxury EV SUV segment, which also includes rivals like the Kia EV6, BYD Sealion 7, BMW iX1 and the Volvo EX40 and EC40.

ZigSays…
The Ioniq 5, since its launch, has been a favourite of luxury electric SUV buyers, but lately has started to show signs of slowing sales. This new facelift will certainly make it feel fresher and help it compete with more evolved competitors that have entered the market recently. However, this is a fast-paced segment, and it remains to be seen if the facelift is able to recreate and retain the aura of the outgoing car.

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift Launched With More Range, Styling Upgrades & New Features!

U.S. electric vehicle maker Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab has launched a fresh six-seater version of its best-selling Model Y in India on Wednesday, marking an expansion of its limited product lineup after a relatively subdued market entry last July.

The new variant, called the Model Y L, features an extended wheelbase and is priced at Rs 61.99 lakh rupees ($66,324.35), according to the company website.

The model is positioned between Tesla's higher-end variant and its more affordable offering.

The launch aligns with a growing trend among Indian consumers who are increasingly favouring larger, more premium vehicles equipped with touchscreen displays and sunroofs. This shift has helped propel demand for sport utility vehicles across the market.

Tesla entered India, currently the world's third-largest automobile market, less than a year ago with its imported Model Y. Due to the country's steep 100% import tariff, the vehicle is priced much higher than in global markets.

Currently, the Model Y rear-wheel-drive version is priced at roughly 6 million rupees, while the long-range rear-wheel-drive variant costs 6.8 million rupees. These price points position Tesla within a niche segment, as most cars sold in India are estimated to be priced below $22,000.

The company's lower running costs, including maintenance and fuel, could allow buyers to recover about one-third of the Model Y's purchase price over four to five years, Tesla India Head Sharad Agarwal had previously told Reuters.

Although the model Y L has not yet been launched in the United States, Tesla introduced the version in China last year, where it starts at 339,000 yuan ($49,687.80).

Maruti Suzuki commences commercial production at Haryana's Kharkhoda plant

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has commenced commercial production at its Kharkhoda facility in Haryana. The foundation stone for this plant was laid virtually by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in August 2022.

The new facility, which will initially manufacture the subcompact SUV Brezza and will have an annual production capacity of 250,000 units.

With this addition, Maruti Suzuki, including its wholly owned subsidiary Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited, now boasts a total production capability of 2.6 million units per year.

Recently, the three-row version of the Grand Vitara was spied testing near the Kharkhoda plant in Haryana. Production of the new SUV will take place at Maruti Suzuki's Kharkhoda facility.

The design cues suggest that it takes inspiration from the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara electric SUV.

The upcoming seven-seater variant of the Grand Vitara is expected to be built on the global C-platform. Spy images indicate that this extended version features a longer profile along with new alloy wheels. The front end appears to sport an updated grille, a reworked bumper, and a redesigned headlamp setup with fresh daytime running lights (DRLs). At the rear, the SUV is anticipated to include connected LED taillamps, a shark-fin antenna, and a newly styled bumper.

Inside, the larger Grand Vitara is likely to feature a revamped dashboard with a sizable infotainment touchscreen. Expected amenities include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents. While not officially confirmed, the inclusion of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) remains a possibility.

Mechanically, the three-row Grand Vitara is expected to share its underpinnings with the five-seater model and continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain. Transmission options are also likely to remain unchanged.

Upon launch, the 7-seater Grand Vitara will rival other three-row SUVs such as the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, Mahindra Scorpio-N, Kia Carens, and MG Hector Plus.

The 2025 Volvo XC60 facelift sports updated styling, an enhanced infotainment system

The Volvo XC60 has received a second facelift three years after the first update and eight years after the current-gen model's debut. The XC60 gets a refreshed design, an improved features list and a familiar set of powertrains.

XC60 facelift gets a revised grille

The facelifted XC60 receives mild styling tweaks that bring it more in line with the updated XC90 that debuted last year. Prominent changes at the front include a new grille that ditches the vertical slats for diagonal ones and gets redesigned air vents in the bumper. The XC60 rides on new alloy wheels and gets smoked-out effects for the tail-lamps.

Three new colours on offer

Two brand-new colour options – namely Forest Lake and Aurora Silver – will be introduced with the facelifted XC60. Additionally, the Mulberry Red finish offered on other Volvos will also be available.

XC60 facelift features major infotainment system upgrade

The facelifted XC60 doesn't get many changes on the inside other than an upgraded speaker mesh grille, some new premium materials, and a new 11.2-inch freestanding infotainment screen. The touchscreen gets a new UX and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon Cockpit Platform processor, which offers greater image quality, over-the-air updates, and is claimed to be twice as fast as Volvo's previous infotainment system.

Volvo XC60 facelift powertrains

No changes under the hood for XC60 facelift

Volvo hasn't detailed any changes to the facelifted XC60's mechanicals, so the SUV will most likely carry on with its current powertrain options. The first of these is a 250hp, 350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid that's mated to an 8-speed torque converter. While this is the sole powertrain offered in the India-spec XC60, overseas markets also get a 455hp, 640Nm 2.0-litre twincharged plug-in hybrid variant.

The facelifted XC60 is expected to go on sale internationally later this year. The outgoing model is currently on sale in India for Rs 69.9 lakh (ex-showroom), so expect it to be priced at a slight premium when Volvo will launch it here in due time. Aside from the facelifted XC60, Volvo will also bring the all-electric EX90 and EX30 to India.
