<p>Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are set to reunite on the big screen after 18 years with their upcoming film&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan</em>. Directed by Priyadarshan, the thriller is scheduled to release in theatres on September 11, and its advance bookings have already begun.</p>
<p>Akshay and Saif were last seen together in the 2008 action-comedy&nbsp;<em>Tashan</em>. Their reunion, along with Akshay stepping into a negative role, has created curiosity around the film.&nbsp;</p>
<p>However, with&nbsp;<em>Hanuman Ansh</em>&nbsp;continuing its strong run and Mirzapur also drawing audiences, the film will have to fight for prime screens and audience attention.</p>
<h3><strong><em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>Day 1 Box Office Prediction</strong></h3>
<p>Trade analyst Ramesh Bala believes&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>could cross Rs 5 crore on its opening day.</p>
<p>"Looking at the advance bookings,&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>could open in the Rs 6-8 crore nett range. The Akshay Kumar-Saif Ali Khan reunion gives it curiosity value, but spot bookings and word of mouth will be crucial in pushing the Day 1 number higher," he told NDTV.</p>
<p>He expects the film to benefit from the reunion and Priyadarshan's direction.</p>
<p>"<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>has the ingredients for a healthy opening weekend, particularly with Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan reuniting under Priyadarshan. If the audience response is positive, the film should see good growth from Saturday and could put together a solid weekend total - Rs 30 crore nett."</p>
<p>Trade Analyst Sumit Kadel, meanwhile, has a slightly lower opening-day estimate. He expects the film to collect around Rs 5-7 crore nett on Day 1.&nbsp;</p>
<p>"I am expecting&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>to open in the range of Rs 5-7 crore nett. The film is a dark thriller, not a massy commercial entertainer, so its weekend business will largely depend on audience reception," he told us.</p>
<h3><strong>Can&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>Compete With<em>&nbsp;Hanuman Ansh</em>?</strong></h3>
<p>The film will arrive at a time when&nbsp;<em>Hanuman Ansh</em>&nbsp;is enjoying a strong run at the box office. However, Ramesh Bala does not expect the two films to directly clash for the same audience.</p>
<p>"<em>Hanuman Ansh</em>&nbsp;continuing its strong run could take away some screens and audience share, but it shouldn't significantly hurt&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>if the latter connects with viewers. Ultimately, strong content can coexist at the box office, and word of mouth will decide how well&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>holds."</p>
<p>Sumit Kadel also feels that&nbsp;<em>Hanuman Ansh</em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>cater to different audiences. However, the strong performance of&nbsp;<em>Hanuman Ansh</em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Mirzapur&nbsp;</em>could make the fight for screens tougher.</p>
<p>"<em>Hanuman Ansh</em>&nbsp;has a very different target audience, so I don't expect&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>to impact its run, just like Mirzapur hasn't affected it. However,&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>will definitely find it challenging to get prime showcasing due to the superb run of both&nbsp;<em>Hanuman Ansh&nbsp;</em>and Mirzapur."</p>
<h3><strong>Akshay Kumar's Negative Role Is A Major Attraction</strong></h3>
<p>One of the biggest talking points around&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>is Akshay Kumar's character. The actor will be seen playing a negative role, giving audiences a chance to see him in a darker avatar.</p>
<p>Ramesh Bala believes this could work strongly in the film's favour.</p>
<p>"Seeing Akshay Kumar in a negative role adds an element of unpredictability to&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>and could be one of its biggest attractions. Audiences have seen him across genres, but this darker avatar offers something different and, if the character is well written, it could work strongly in the film's favour."</p>
<p>Sumit Kadel is even more direct about Akshay's character being the film's biggest selling point.</p>
<p>"Without a doubt, Akshay Kumar playing a negative character is the biggest selling point of&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan</em>."</p>
<h3><strong>Weekend Business Will Depend On Word Of Mouth</strong></h3>
<p>Sumit Kadel expects&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>to collect around Rs 25-30 crore nett over its opening weekend. He believes the number could go higher if the film receives a strong response.</p>
<p>"I am expecting the film to collect around Rs 25-30 Cr nett over the weekend, with potential to go higher if it receives a tremendous positive response."</p>
<p>For Ramesh Bala, the Akshay-Saif reunion provides the initial curiosity, but it will be the film's content that determines its long-term box office journey.</p>
<p>"The Akshay Kumar-Saif Ali Khan reunion definitely adds nostalgia and curiosity, especially for audiences who remember their earlier films together. It can give&nbsp;<em>Haiwaan&nbsp;</em>an initial push, but beyond the first-day excitement, the film will ultimately need strong content and word of mouth to sustain."</p>

Mirzapur day 1 box office collection: Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu movie records Rs 3.18 crore opening-day collection

<p>Actress&nbsp;Kayadu Lohar&nbsp;has revealed that she sat next to Rajinikanth on a flight without knowing it was him, and spent the entire journey pretending to be asleep out of nervousness.</p>
<p>In an interview with Galatta Plus, Kayadu recounted her encounter with Rajinikanth. &ldquo;I was on a flight, seated on the other side of the aisle next to two men in a cramped seat. A woman on the aisle seat next to what turned out to be an empty middle seat offered to switch. I accepted without knowing who was in the window seat next to her. As I switched, I didn&rsquo;t even look at that person. I was like, sir, can you just pick up your AirPod. And then later on I got to know that Rajinikanth had booked that seat, so that no one can sit next to him because he&rsquo;s usually travelling and people might intervene in his personal space,&rdquo; the actress recalled.</p>

<p>When she finally turned and realised it was Rajinikanth, she froze. &ldquo;I just couldn&rsquo;t hold myself. I was very conscious and nervous. I was like, oh my God, what did I do, I just sat on this seat,&rdquo; she said. What followed was an entire flight of internal panic. &ldquo;I acted like I was sleeping but I was not sleeping. The whole flight I was just like this.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Before landing, Kayadu Lohar did something she later called &ldquo;a very stupid thing.&rdquo; She called director Dragon director Ashwath Marimuthu, while still seated next to Rajinikanth. &ldquo;I told him I&rsquo;m sitting right next to Rajinikanth sir. What do I say? I&rsquo;m so nervous. Should I tell him that I worked with you,&rdquo; she narrated. The actress even asked him to stay on video call in case Rajinikanth did not believe her.</p>
<p>After landing, she gathered the courage to introduce herself. She told Rajinikanth she had worked with Ashwath Marimuthu in Dragon. &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t think he knows me but he said, &lsquo;Oh, you look very different. You look pretty,'&rdquo; she recalled.</p>
<h3>On shooting with Suriya</h3>
<p>Currently, Kayadu Lohar is shooting with Suriya. Talking about her experience working with the actor, she said, &ldquo;I was so intimidated on the first day of shoot with Suriya. It&rsquo;s been four days since we started to shoot and I&rsquo;m still intimidated. So I&rsquo;m just finding my way to be calm and just perform.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Kayadu described the experience of acting opposite Suriya as a form of &ldquo;healthy competition&rdquo; that pushes her to raise her own game. &ldquo;When Suriya is on screen, it&rsquo;s very difficult to take your eyes off him. So I really want to match up to that. That&rsquo;s the only thing I keep in my mind. I have to give my best shot so that it matches up,&rdquo; she said.</p>
<h3>On acting with Dulquer Salmaan</h3>
<p>On the sets of her latest film I&rsquo;m Game, Kayadu Lohar said what struck her most about Dulquer Salmaan was not his acting but his restraint as a producer. She said Dulquer, who produced the film under Wayfarer Films, deliberately stepped back from creative decisions and let director Nahas Hidhayath run the set without interference.</p>
<p>&ldquo;He is also producing the film, so playing both parts on a film set is not easy. But what I saw was that he was very relaxed about it. He gave the space to the director. The director is the captain of the ship, and Dulquer does not try to intervene,&rdquo; she said.</p>
<p>Kayadu recounted a specific moment where Dulquer had a different idea about how a particular scene should be shot. &ldquo;I asked him, &lsquo;You are the producer of the film. You should say what you feel.&rsquo; to which he told me, &lsquo;No, the director is very convinced and very firm about what he wants. I do not want to be that person who overrides him. If he is that sure and confident about it, I can keep the producer part and even the actor part on the side and just follow my director&rsquo;s vision. That is what I signed up for,'&rdquo; she recalled.</p>
<p>&ldquo;A person like Dulquer, at the position he is in, to have that kind of mindset is not easy. That is what I took from him,&rdquo; the actress added.</p>
<p>As an actor, Kayadu Lohar said Dulquer Salmaan&rsquo;s ability to switch between registers instantly left her impressed. &ldquo;He will be sitting there, completely relaxed, chilling, and then immediately there is a scene where he switches into a completely different person. That switch is really fascinating to watch,&rdquo; she said.</p>
